Prout
As an Associate at Gigascale, Haley brings hands-on operating experience in hardware product engineering and development. She draws on that background to evaluate both the manufacturability of new technologies and the depth of customer insight informing solutions.
Before joining Gigascale, Haley explored multiple facets of climate impact and investing, including roles at DCVC, the Stanford Impact Fund, and in state government. At DCVC, she developed an investment thesis on batteries, conducting more than 35 interviews, analyzing market trends, completing technical diligence, and sourcing multiple investment opportunities. Similarly, she completed a carbon removal thesis while at the Stanford Impact Fund.
Earlier in her career, Haley led orthopedic implant and surgical instrumentation development at Stryker, a Fortune 500 medical technology company. She managed scopes, schedules, and resources for multi-disciplinary projects, including one that delivered over 50 SKUs to market. Her work taught her the importance of team cohesion, iteration, and how true customer empathy solves real problems. She also led rapid prototyping efforts, using 3D printing to accelerate learning cycles, and holds a published patent.
Haley holds an MBA–MS in Environment and Resources from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. She also earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan and has published research on tissue engineering in the journal Biomedical Materials.
