Olivia
Strader

As an Associate at Gigascale, Olivia focuses on the physical economy's resilience to a more volatile climate — how risk gets priced and transferred, and how critical systems are hardened. She has invested across venture, philanthropic, and institutional capital, and co-founded a startup of her own.

Before Gigascale, Olivia built her climate risk and resilience record across several roles. As a Venture Fellow at Sunna Ventures, she shaped the firm's risk transfer thesis; as a Research Fellow at Probable Futures, she interviewed insurance leaders on how financial markets can be restructured for physical resilience; and she co-founded a startup that built satellite models to forecast weather volatility and its impact on commodity yields and prices. At DBL Partners, she led diligence on a physical AI investment in Agtonomy and co-authored a white paper on solar project finance and institutional carbon markets.

Earlier, Olivia spent four years as a Senior Associate at LH Capital / Lyda Hill Philanthropies, a family investment office, where she invested in biotech startups and built out the climate portfolio, from land conservation and methane abatement to wildfire and water resilience. She evaluated 160+ opportunities, capitalized a pooled fund for Texas water infrastructure, and led a wildfire strategy. Before that, she was a management consultant at Sendero Consulting within the chemical and energy sectors.

Olivia holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Sociology, magna cum laude from Davidson College. She is a certified volunteer wildland firefighter.
